Pomeranian Economic Observatory
Pomeranian Economic Observatory (PEO) is a tool designed to monitor SME sector. Pomerania Development Agency has conducted four surveys: PEO I, PEO II, PEO III and PEO IV so as to show the present performance and dynamics of SME sector in the region.
With constant changes affecting the economic situation in the region, it is crucial to monitor the changes arising in the particular sectors of region’s economy. SME sector faces a lot of challenges that need to be addressed by business support institutions and regional authorities. To identify the areas in particular need and to intervene, it is necessary to have in- depth knowledge about the SME’s needs, barriers and growth opportunities. Not only does Pomerania Economic Observatory give the opportunity to identify problems but it also shows path of economic development for region’s SME sector. Thus, it makes a significant contribution to knowledge-based economy and the region’s development.
The survey has been conducted thrice thanks to funding from European grants.
